The course prepares candidates to enter, work and self-rescue from medium risk confined spaces safely. You will underpinning knowledge of confined space legislation, identify confined spaces, associated hazards, confined space risk assessments, principles of safe systems of work for confined space operations and the legal requirement and importance of a confined space rescue plan.
As well as practical training in the use of equipment to allow safe access and egress, the use of personal atmospheric monitoring equipment, emergency escapes, breathing apparatus and confined space communications.
The practical exercises are performed using our purpose-built confined space training simulator. You will learn how to, descend, ascend and traverse a confined space wearing a safety harness. You will be required to wear emergency escape breathing apparatus and safely exit the confined space. You will be expected to crawl through 20 meters of various sized and shaped tunneling, and under various simulated emergency conditions that include noise, limited light and smoke.
(Medium Risk Entrant) Confined Space Safe Entry & Self Rescue
Candidates who require the skills to work in or around confined spaces safely and competently. Candidates on completion of this course may progress to Confined Space First Response Team training and /or Self- contained Breathing apparatus training.
Please Note: The course includes the use of Emergency Escape Breathing apparatus (Escape Set). This does not qualify personnel in the use of Self-contained breathing apparatus.
