Designed for those who respond as part of a First Response Team to confined spaces. Preparing candidates to understand and conduct rescues for personnel who enter and work within confined spaces. You will learn underpinning knowledge of confined space legislation, identification of confined spaces, associated hazards, and awareness of confined space risk assessments. Also the principles of safe systems of work for confined space operations, the legal requirements and importance of confined space rescue plans.
Practical training includes exercises performed using a purpose-built confined space training simulator, allowing supervisors to manage the safe access and egress.
Training in correct use of personal atmospheric monitoring equipment, the use of emergency escapes breathing apparatus and of confined space communications equipment.
Prior Knowledge
Completion of the IIRSM Approved Safe Entry and Self Rescue is necessary for prior knowledge. A basic level of personal fitness allowing candidates to participate in the practical elements of the course is required.
Confined Space First Response Team
Candidates who will be part of an emergency response team at your workplace or site.
Please Note: The course includes the use of emergency escape breathing apparatus (Escape Set). It does not qualify personnel in the use of self-contained breathing apparatus.
Our confined space mobile simulators enable the training to be delivered at any location.
